We have been involved in hundreds of published and unpublished opinions in the Florida Supreme Court, the five District Courts of Appeal throughout Florida, and Federal Appellate Courts.

Directors & Officers

We have represented executives in a multitude of different industries and corporate structures, including for-profit and non-profit corporations. Our multinational experience ranges from banking to intellectual property areas, to the insurance industry, for which we have been involved in coverage disputes involving D&O policies. D&O liability represents a unique and complex practice area, which requires special consideration and handling as these claims involve legal attacks against the most senior executives of a corporation.

General Commercial, Auto & Products Liability/Catastrophic Claims

DLD Lawyers has an extensive practice and significant trial experience representing on behalf of both insurance carriers and self-insured entities, businesses and individuals in a wide array of personal injury and property loss actions. Our experience covers the spectrum from routine general liability claims specializing in complex multi-party, multi-million dollar catastrophic injury claims. We defend claims involving all aspects of: commercial liability, Automobile/Trucking, Premises Liability/Security-Related Claims, Products Liability, Liquor Liability and Fire Losses.

Insurance Coverage/Bad Faith/Excess Coverage

We represent and counsel insurance companies and surplus lines carriers in declaratory coverage suits and of issues involving coverage, and “bad faith.” We provide opinion letters setting forth in-depth analysis of coverage issues and have extensive experience with first-party and third-party insurance coverage issues arising from a broad variety of insurance policies and issues. We regularly advise clients on issues relating to bad faith during the underlying litigation and defend bad faith actions. In addition, as counsel for excess carriers, we monitor and oversee the rights of excess carriers and litigate on behalf of such carriers.

Our experience in this area dates back over twenty-five years and includes the defense of the largest property insurance carriers writing coverage in Florida as well as smaller carriers that emerged from the downfall of the property insurance market following Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Our attorneys have successfully advised and defended these carriers throughout all aspects of the claims process including trials.

Toxic Tort & Environmental Law

With local juries awarding asbestos verdicts ranging from 12 to 32 million dollars in single plaintiff cases, asbestos litigation in Florida presents a unique set of both challenges and opportunities to defendants. This type of litigation requires unique skills and information to be able to present the best defense, and cannot be trusted to just any attorney. It must be handled by those attorneys possessing the necessary skill sets that can only be developed over years of learning the science and technology related to the many types asbestos, as well as the application of that asbestos type. Knowledge of the science and technology alone is not enough. That must be joined with the skill developed from requisite courtroom experience in order to be able present these very technical (and dry) topics to a jury in a clear, cogent and convincing manner. Our team has many years of trial experience and a depth of knowledge in the industry, having presided over 100’s of trials; taken and defended 1000’s of depositions; participated in the development of experts for later use in litigation.

Our team presents that coincidence of years of trial experience and a depth of knowledge not matched in the industry. Our team has presided over 100's of trials; taken and defended 1000's of depositions; participated in the development of experts for later use in litigation. In short, Our team presents the fusion of experience; knowledge and abilities that few can match, but none can exceed.
