On August 17, 2018, a Fulton County jury, in an Atlanta courtroom presided over by the Honorable Jay Roth, returned a defense verdict in favor of Milliken & Company, a textile company, in a wrongful death lawsuit brought by the Estate of Heidi McCorkle (“McCorkle”), one of five passengers who died in an airplane crash in 2013. The 12-member jury unanimously rejected the Estate’s claims against Milliken and their demand for almost $20 million for the death of the 28 year-old. McCorkle is survived by two young children.
