During February 1st and 2nd, Tiya Rolle, Esq., an associate attorney with DLD Lawyers, participated in the Florida Association of Women Lawyers’ Fifth Annual Trial Skills Workshop at the Miami-Dade Children’s Courthouse.

The workshop centered on promoting the trial advocacy skills of female attorneys. Throughout the workshop, judges provided hands-on training to female attorneys in the areas of direct and cross examination of lay witnesses and experts, opening and closing statements, and the admissibility of evidence at trial.

The event also featured a discussion titled “Female Lawyers Can Talk, Too,” which highlighted some of the issues female lawyers have in obtaining opportunities to further their trial advocacy skills. The event specifically highlighted strategies that female lawyers could implement in furthering their oral advocacy.
